10% Off Licenciados Cameroon Robusto and La Flor del Caney Toro 5 packs

Last week we pitted two of the most dissimilar Cameroon wrapped cigars imaginable, the Acid One, an upstart if ever there was one, and the H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon, an endearing classic. This week we’re offering up great savings on two premium handmade cigars that are made exclusively for Mike’s Cigars of Miami.
Now, don’t go thinking these are “store brands.” Both of these premium lovelies is produced in the Dominican Republic by none other than Manuel Quesada, creator of Casa Magna, Fonseca, and many other award winning cigars. Trust me on this one, at these prices, you won’t find a better deal on a premium, handmade, long filler cigar, wrapped in some of the most gorgeous Cameroon wrappers
anywhere.

The Licenciados Cameroon Robusto and La Flor del Caney Toro
Let’s take a look…
Licenciados Cameroon
The band on the Licenciados brand is an exact replica of that found for decades on the Cuban made Diplomaticos brand. In Spanish, “Diplomaticos” translates to “diplomatics” while the Spanish “Licenciados” translates to lawyer. It’s an interesting play on words and a really good cigar. The Licenciados Cameroon Robusto uses a Dominican filler blend and binder with a Grade A Cameroon wrapper for a twist on the traditional Licenciados line, which was designed to be similar to Macanudo but slightly bolder.
The Cameroon wrapped Licenciados was introduced by Mike’s in 2002 and is made by MATASA. The Licenciados Cameroon robusto clocks in at a respectable 4 ¾” by 56 making it more of a Rothschild than a true robusto. But the beauty in the design is in the quality of the smoke. The extra ring width allows the blenders to combine even more quality long fillers resulting in a medium bodied smoke with ample character. This cigar pairs beautifully with a crisp ale, wonderful.

La Flor del Caney
The La Flor del Caney line was introduced by Mike’s Cigars of Miami in 2001. Also produced by Manuel Quesada at the famed MATASA factory, the La Flor del Caney features a high quality Cameroon wrapper over a spicy Indonesian binder. These leaves surround an all Dominican filler blend resulting in a cigar that resembles the Dominican Cohiba in more ways than on paper, at least I think so.
La Flor del Caney is another old Cuban brand and again, Mike’s Cigars has kept the banding true to the original design. The bold yellow, red, brown, and gold set off beautifully against the deep brown of the grainy wrapper.
