Meet the Review Crew: Martin Klausmeier, Managing Editor
Martin Klausmeier lives in West Bend, Wisconsin with his wife and their two young daughters. Marty is also the proud parent of one adult son, and two, wonderful adult step-daughters.
Marty is a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Medical Corps. He worked for 13 years at the Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a lab technician, medical technician, and a instructor. Marty has also worked in medical research and continues to enjoy reading the current medical literature, particularly that regarding smoking and second hand smoke.
Marty has been collecting cigars since 2006 and maintains a sizable collection. According to Marty, “Cigars are a way that I unwind. After a day with the girls and the other events of each day, there’s little I like to do more than to smoke a really great cigar. Cigars give me that time to disengage my thoughts from the daily routine and focus my thoughts elsewhere. It’s my contemplative time.”
In October, 2010, Marty sat for the Tobacconist University Certified Consumer Tobacconist Exam, passing to become Wisconsin’s first Certified Consumer Tobacconist. While not a “professional” certification, the Tobacconist University curriculum is an in depth study into all aspects of premium tobaccos and the industry that surrounds them.
In early 2011, Klausmeier joined Cigar Captain Contributing Author, Garth Bugenhagen and Tom Popies becoming the third Cigar Rights of America Ambassador.
