Meet the Review Crew: John “Ol’ Chumbucket” Baur, Resident Pirate and Contributing Author
John “Old Chumbucket” Baur smoked his first cigars in 1972. According to John, “two friends and I got our first jobs at a place next door to a tobacconist, and celebrated from time to time with Macanudos, Romeo y Julieta panatelas and – a couple of times, on payday – H. Upmanns. I’ve never smoked anything better than those Upmanns.”

Ol' Chumbucket and Mad Sally enjoy a premium cigar
These days when John smokes a cigar it’s typically a Dunhill. When John smokes his pipes, he prefers Balkan Sobranie Smoking mixture, or if that’s not available something with a good dose of latakia.
John’s wife, Tori – better known as “Mad Sally,” started smoking cigars as a young teen, raiding her father’s Swisher Sweets that he stashed in his car. Tori’s tastes may have started that way, with the flavored cigars, but these days when the couple buys cigars, they usually share a Dunhill.
For those of you wondering, yes, John’s wife Tori (aka. Mad Sally) was featured on ABC’s hit TV show, “Wife Swap.” If you didn’t get a chance to see the show, you can check some of their videos here: The Official site for Talk Like A Pirate Day
